WHO ARE WE?
Texas 4000 is a community of cancer fighters. Our riders, all University of Texas students, are the passionate young people at the heart of the organization. We train, fundraise, educate, and bring hope to those with cancer.
My 2015 Texas 4000 Team is made up of 97 fellow UT-Austin students. We will be taking 3 differet routes to Alaska but we all stand for one cause. To bring an end to cancer.

OUR MISSION

Texas 4000 is dedicated to fighting cancer by sharing hope, knowledge and charity. We cultivate the next generation to lead the fight against cancer through our cornerstone event, a more than 4,000-mile bike ride from Austin to Anchorage.

CHARITY

Texas 4000 was founded in 2004. In the last 10 years, this non-profit organization has donated more than $3.5 million to help fund cancer research. My goal is to raise $6,000 dollars- a little over a $1 for every mile that will be ridden from Austin to Alaska. The money that my team raises together will be donated to M.D. Anderson Cancer and Research Center, the LIVESTRONG Cancer Navigation Center, and to the University of Texas at Austin Biomedical Cancer Research Center. This funding helps these institutions fight to find a cure for cancer.

HOPE

Texas 4000 is the longest annual Charity Ride in the world. Pedaling over 4,500 miles, Texas 4000 is a journey that takes grit, determination, and support- that's why we think of it as a metaphor for the battle against cancer. Our mission is to bring hope to those suffering because of cancer. We spread this hope by visiting communities, large and small, while on our cross country bike ride. We share our stories with these communities, and then they share their stories with us. These stories unite us. Hope fuels us.

KNOWLEDGE
We spread knowledge by life-saving information about cancer prevention to the communities we visit along our bike ride.

WHY DONATE TO TEXAS 4000?

"Texas 4000 teams spread hope across the country. While hope may not pay for cancer research or new medications, it is the basis of fighting cancer. So by donatin to me as part of the Texas 4000 team, money is going to cancer research, but it is also going to something bigger, something that money can't buy- confidence and faith that we can find a cure."
